Description

“As a result of Project WET’s innovative teaching methods, the number of pupils and teachers washing their hands after using the toilet improved from less than 5% to over 38% at the Lake Victoria Primary School in Entebbe, Uganda,” said Teddy Tindamanyire, the Principal Environment Officer for the Uganda Ministry of Water and Environment. Water, sanitation and hygiene lessons including emphasis on hand washing’s importance can play a critical role in reducing water- and sanitation-related diseases, which claim the lives of more than 2 million children each year. Help Project WET improve the lives of African children by supporting water, sanitation and hygiene teacher-training workshops. For every $750 raised, Project WET is able to hold a training workshop for 30 teachers in Uganda. An e-certificate will be created for each donation.
